An Awareness and Preventive Programme organised by the Community Police Department under the Ministry of Interior (MOI), in cooperation with the Department of Security, Safety and Environment at Qatargas, ended this week with a closing ceremony at the company’s residential complex in Al Khor.

The events were organised at the residential complex of Qatargas in Al Khor, where at least 35 Arab and foreign nationals currently reside. The programme lasted more than a month and included a number of lectures for students, families and security personnel. Several departments under MOI also took part in the programmes. These included the Traffic Awareness Department, the Civil Defence Prevention Department, the Northern Security Department, the Preventive Security Department, and the Criminal Evidence and Information Department. Police dogs who showcased their skills in detecting criminals, narcotics and explosives were also presented to the community during the closing event.

Hamad Al Mannai, Head of Safety, Security and Environment at Qatargas, expressed his thanks to the Community Police Department. The activities, according to him, provided much benefit to the residents of the complex. Colonel Sultan Mohammed Al Kaabi, Assistant Director at the Community Police Department, pointed out the mandate of MOI to reach all segments of society and to provide educational and awareness services in the field of security and safety. The programme resulted from the cooperation between MOI and Qatargas, for the benefit of the company’s residents in Al Khor.

Participating departments and members of the organising committee were honoured at the closing ceremony.
