Doha College student Jyothsna Prakash has outshone all other students receiving two awards for her A Level English Examinations. Jyothsna achieved the highest mark in the world for her English Language and the highest mark in Qatar for her English Literature.

Jyothsna received these impressive accolades from Cambridge International Examination Board based on her results from her June 2016 A Level English examination results. Now living in the UK, Jyothsna is furthering her studies at Cambridge University reading psychology where she hopes to continue with her Masters in forensic psychology.

Jyothsna said:

I am delighted to accept these awards and would like to thank my teachers for all their support throughout my studies. I have made great friends while studying at Doha College and we still meet regularly as many are studying in the UK too.’

Dr Steffen Sommer, Principal of Doha College, said:

This is the first time a Doha College student has been recognised with the highest scores in the World for English Language and the highest score in Qatar for English Literature. I am very proud of Jyothsna, and wish her every success with her future studies.’

Jyothsna is currently reading Psychology at Cambridge, so her award was collected by her father, Prakash Viswanathan, said:

I was surprised when Doha College contacted us, and I am very proud of my daughter. In fact, all our family are incredibly proud of her success, Jyothsna is the first person in our family to study at Cambridge. She completed all her secondary education at Doha College and received a great educational foundation; actually she is still using her school notes in her studies at University.’
