Companies and organisations across Qatar are invited to participate in the third Education City Career Fair to be held on the 6 – 7 February 2017. This annual initiative, hosted at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Student Center, aims to provide undergraduate and graduate students in Education City with the opportunity to engage with prospective employers, building valuable connections between industry and education, with participants representing both the public and private sectors in Qatar.
The event is being organised in collaboration with HBKU’s eight partner universities: Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar, Northwestern University in Qatar, HEC Paris in Qatar, and UCL Qatar.
At the event, students and alumni will have the opportunity to collect information about positions, and inquire about internships, sponsorships, and full-time jobs.
The third Education City Career Fair seeks to replicate and expand on the success of previous events. Earlier this year the second Education City Career Fair involved participation from more than 100 local, regional, and international organisations from a variety of sectors including finance, media, oil and gas, technology, education, and research.
Ahlam Al Hajaji, head of the Education City Joint Career Fair Planning Committee and Student Employment Coordinator at HBKU, noted:
The previous Education City Career Fairs have proved extremely popular with students and employers alike, and we anticipate that next February’s event will again be very successful.’
‘Students are provided with an exceptional platform to showcase their achievements and show their potential. Employers get to come face to face with a highly educated and enthusiastic future workforce and have the chance to build an impression of candidates that goes far beyond what is written on their CVs.’
Registration is open for all companies and organisations operating in Qatar until 15 December. For those interested in participating, visit https://goo.gl/aGIE5k.
