Qatar Foundation (QF) is hosting a diverse range of family-friendly events and activities at schools and venues throughout Education City this summer, with their extensive summer calendar offering something for all ages. A variety of athletic, academic, and other fun activities – including swimming, trampolining, experimental art, baking, film and football – are lined up for the coming weeks.

Machaille Al Naimi, President of Community Development at QF, said they are inviting everyone to take part in the summer events and experience the services and facilities that QF has to offer at Education City.

Community development lies at the heart of everything we do at QF, and our exciting summer activities demonstrate our commitment to fostering a socially-engaged society and nurturing the mental and physical wellbeing of all members of the Qatar community. The diverse array of events and activities we have organised means there really is something for everyone.’

QF Summer Activity

Summer Volleyball Programme (Awsaj Academy) 
Basic of serving, passing, attacking, and blocking will be taught to children aged 9 to 12 years old. The programme is free of charge and open to the public. Until 29 July.

Swimming Lessons / Mini Swim Camp (Awsaj Recreation Centre)
For children and adults throughout summer.

** The swimming pool at QF Recreation Centre is open every Friday, 8 am to 6 pm.

Baking for Children (QF Recreation Centre) 
Will teach children 4 to 12 years old how to create healthy meals. The Summer of Learning activity at the Education City Club House will give children the opportunity to conduct different science experiments. On 25 July.

QCDC Summer Career Camp 2018 (Education City Student Centre) 
The camp provides high school students with a stimulating experience that will help them to make informed academic and career decisions. Until 12 July.

Sanea Summer Camp Festival 2018 (Qatar Academy Doha)
Billed as the ‘Ultimate Project-Based Makers’ Camp for Kids’, it takes place beginning this Sunday, 8 July, while Camp Festival is holding its Summer Camp 2018 in Education City from 9 am until 3 pm, Sunday to Thursday, until 2 August.

VCUarts Qatar Summer Art and Design Programme 2018 
For children and high school students.

** QF Recreation Centre and the Education City Summer Camps are also providing a wide range of activities for children throughout the summer months.

A family event to celebrate Eid Al Adha will be held on 23 August at the Education City Club House, showcasing Qatari traditions through a host of offerings, including henna tattoo, traditional food, and arts and crafts.
