FNAC, together with the French Embassy in Qatar and the French Institute, made their participation to the 29th Doha International Book Fair remarkable with their varied display of French books, made more special with a section for Qatari authors, in addition to a range of activities such as workshops, book signings, meet and greets, story-telling sessions, and other interactive events.
FNAC is set to host notable authors especially invited by FNAC International France, such as Sibylline Desmazières and Jérôme D’Aviau, authors and illustrators of the book ‘Rat et les animaux moches’. The two interacted with students during their workshops. Another French author, Alexis Nesme, (Les Enfants du Capitaine Grant) also led workshops for students.
Over the ten-day book fair, FNAC booth is expected to attract over 1,000 students from different schools in Doha. Renowned Qatari writers and artists will also be visiting the booth to present their work throughout the exhibition. Fnac is supporting local talents through cultural and educational activities and signing ceremonies. All these activities are meant to inspire and enlighten students on the importance of reading books, which helps hone their skills.
The Doha International Book Fair is considered as the largest international book fair in the region with extensive participation from different countries worldwide. It is a platform to exchange cultural diversity and a space to inspire dialogue and share knowledge.
