The Ministry of Interior (MOI), in collaboration with Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recently organised a seminar for companies who want to subscribe to its E-services.

MOI’s Brigadier Abdul Rahman Al Maliki said that they provide electronic services to companies, including integrated services that are available around the clock, seven days a week.

These services are accessible from anywhere and available in six languages: Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Malayalam and Spanish. More than 200 electronic services are available now to over 400,000 users from at least 40,000 companies. In fact, there were more than five million transactions completed through the service in 2017. These services include direct debit services, PRO services, auto renewal services, mail delivery services, entry permit services, travel notification services and traffic services.

Brigadier Al Maliki pointed out however, that the E-service, while convenient and comes with many advantages, also has certain limitations.

  • Companies shall have to subscribe to Metrash 2 and have a smart card to use the web portal
  • Subscription is permitted only to authorised employees
  • The company’s direct debit account is only with QNB
  • The authority to use the account is provided to the authorised signatory for the service
  • There is a maximum amount allowed for renewal of residence permits
  • Residence permit cards are delivered through Q-post
  • Companies shall have to use the Exclusion Service to exclude individuals who are not willing to renew their residence permits

In turn, subscription to E-services will provide a detailed alert of the resident status of employees twice a month (every 1st and 15th of each month). Exclusive reports about residence permits renewed and rejected, as well as the reason for non-acceptance will also be sent twice a month (on the 8th and 22nd of each month).
