Qatar Airways was recently recognised in Lebanon for its outstanding achievements at the Luxury Network International Awards held at the Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand Hotel.

The event was organised by the world’s leading luxury affinity marketing group, The Luxury Network, in cooperation with CAEL (Contribution Appreciation to Embassies in Lebanon) and under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Lebanon, HE Saad Hariri. The awards ceremony was designed to support tourism and investment in Lebanon. Qatar’s Ambassador to Lebanon, HE Ali bin Hamad Al Marri was also honoured for the achievements of the State of Qatar in Lebanon, including Qatar’s contribution to a number of development and reconstruction projects in the country.

During his speech, Al Marri honoured Qatar Airways as key to this success, and presented the airline with an award for its achievements and the role that it played in the growth of the Qatari economy and in making new global partnerships. The award was received by Hamad International Airport Vice President for Commercial and Marketing, Abdulaziz Al Mass. The Ambassador also honoured and commended Hamad Port for its achievements during the ceremony. A documentary video was also shown to guests highlighting the key achievements of Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways has a long history in Lebanon. It has been operating flights to Beirut since the airline began its operations more than 20 years ago. The award-winning airline currently operates four daily flights to Lebanon’s capital city of Beirut. The popular route is operated by a mix of the airline’s state-of-the-art aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A350-900. In addition, the airline also shares a codeshare agreement with Lebanon’s national carrier, Middle East airlines.

Qatar Airways Cargo also currently offers customers belly-hold cargo capacity to and from Lebanon. The cargo carrier also operates a regular freighter operation to and from Beirut, with two freighters each week flying to the capital.

Since August 2017, citizens from Lebanon also enjoy a visa waiver upon arrival in Doha. The waiver will be valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and entitle its holder to spend up to 30 days in Qatar, during either a single trip or on multiple trips. This waiver may be extended for a further 30 days, allowing Lebanese visitors ample time to enjoy the best that the State of Qatar has to offer.
