Cultural Village Foundation – Katara celebrated the seventh edition of Halal Qatar Festival recently to bring the public’s attention to the practice of livestock breeding, an old and essential part of Qatari culture.
The festival focused on educating the youth about livestock auction and the different types of cattle available in Qatar. Katara General Manager Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti expressed his pride over the success of this year’s festival, which he said is evolving every year.
The variety of activities which are focused on children also drew more attention from families who attended the festival in large numbers. The festival also included an Al Mazain competition and a ‘Beauty Contest’ for sheeps and goats. The livestock auction witnessed a huge turnout, mostly by local and regional breeders.
