Since Sherborne opened its doors in Qatar in 2009, sport has always been a key component in moulding well-educated and well-rounded individuals.

Over the past four years sporting success has become common in the halls of Sherborne, however, since the beginning of this academic year, Sherborne Qatar’s sporting success has skyrocketed, with notable victories for Year 3 & 6 Boy’s finishing champions in the Qatar Foundation League & Year 3-6 Cross Country QPPSSA Champions (Out of 18 International Schools). The Year 3 & 4 girl’s football team finished 3rd in the QPPSSA Midlands league tournament. More recently the Year 5 & 6 netball achieved a 3rd place finish at the QPPSSA Midlands league tournament progressing to the finals day in February.

The U13 Girl’s Football team made the school proud becoming Qatar Schools Tournament Champions for the 2nd consecutive year with the U12 & U16 winning silver and bronze respectively. The U14 Boys’ Volleyball team is current champions of the Qatar Schools League and U16 Boys Football team play in the QF League semi-finalists in February.

Senior School Cross Country Team

The senior school cross country team showed great determination and perseverance all round coming in 2nd in the team event at the recent QUESS race in Dukhan in January in a bitterly cold race against 200+ runners. U12 & U13 Netballers are currently top of the league and not forgetting one of the strongest sports rugby with various successes in U16 & U19 level, with two pupils currently playing in the QCA U19 Squad. Sherborne Qatar is currently the only British school playing in the Qatar Cricket League.

U11 BSME Footballer Tournament, Sherborne Team finished 2nd overall with the U13 Boys going one better and finishing champions in the QUESS Tournament. U13 BSME team did very well taking 2nd place in Girls football, 3rd in Netball and 2nd place in the Boys Volleyball.
