On the occasion of the Breast Awareness Month, The Westin Doha Hotel and Spa in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society have launched their activities to support ‘Life is Pink’ campaign throughout the whole month of October.

The aim of the initiative is to increase awareness about Breast Cancer among the employees and the local community, additionally, to raise donation and support the treatment of patients fighting the malady.

The hotel has organised an internal session for their employees in association with the Qatar Cancer Society that highlighted information about the diagnosis, methods of prevention, the importance of early detection and screening.

In addition, The Westin will be offering funds to QCS by engaging guests in the supportive campaign without incurring any additional cost. Every time a guest participate in the weekly ‘Sunshine Sessions’ (arranged every Saturday by Heavenly Spa team), a wellbeing activity consisting of a morning of  60-minute yoga, balanced with healthy breakfast bites followed by time to revitalise by the pool until 1 pm, a part of the participation cost will be given to contribute to the treatment of  Breast Cancer patients.

Gianrico Esposito, General Manager, of The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa said:

Mona Ashknani, Director of Resource Development at QCS,  said:

This campaign continues throughout the month and aims to emphasise the importance of periodic examination for the early detection and spreading the culture of healthy lifestyle to prevent it, as well as Highlight the health services available in the State of Qatar, Activating the society’s role in providing social and financial  support to cancer patients  and produce  the experiences of Individuals living with cancer.’

She added:

‘Life is pink’ targets all categories of Qatari society through cooperation with various state institutions to raise awareness of this disease and ways to prevent it, I would also like to thank  the Westin to support QCS’s campaigns and initiatives, and are inviting all community members to participate in this campaign which will continue throughout the whole month.’
