For all you horse racing fans, put this date in your diary: the 2013 HH the Heir Apparent Sword Race will be taking place on Thursday 7 February as the final race of the Heir Apparent Festival.
Held under the patronage of HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Al Rayyan race track, this prestigious event will see the best local bred Pure Arabians race against one another for top honours and a chance to win QR800,000 in prize money.
Continuing its long-standing support of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club, ExxonMobil is once again serving as the exclusive sponsor. ExxonMobil shares Qatar’s view that elevating the country’s status in the international sports arena helps highlight opportunities for long-term investments, and sponsors events like His Highness the Heir Apparent Sword Race and the Qatar ExxonMobil Open.
At the press conference to mark the continuing sponsorship agreement, ExxonMobil President and General Manager Mr Bart Cahir said:
Our sponsorship of HH the Heir Apparent Sword race is especially meaningful to ExxonMobil as it emphasises an important part of Qatar’s heritage – the tradition of equestrian excellence.’
