Marhaba was grateful to be invited recently by Domasco to join a group of journalists being given their first opportunity to enjoy the all-new Honda Civic on a wonderful expedition around the northern suburbs of Doha, reaching in fact as far as Al Khor, with the added delight of a delicious lunch thanks to the hospitality of the team at Domasco and the professional catering team at Murwab Resort at Simaisma, the up-and-coming resort not too far away but sufficiently far to provide a change of scenery and an uplift in spirit that such a change usually brings.
The all-new Civic currently comes in three variants: the RS, the EX and the LX.
We first drove the RS which is the top spec model and, in fact, is the first Honda car to enjoy the added zest of a turbocharger. It was a delight to drive with the economical 1.5 litre powerplant proving to be quite a sport in performance terms. I could just about hear the gears going through their motions but absolutely could feel no jerks as the acceleration was silky smooth. Cruising was especially quiet and serene, while the 4-wheel disk brakes with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist gave absolutely sure and smooth stopping power.
Next up was the EX. This model looks almost identical to the RS, at least in the interior, by which I mean it boasts the most spacious cabin in its class. It is a first class cabin, using high quality materials to relax your mood and help you enjoy your ride. This traditional quality is now enhanced by the state-of-the-art electronic systems, including the 7” touchscreen display and colour screen driver information display.
Last, and also least expensive, was the LX. This model shares the same sophisticated design – with the sharp front grille and distinctive C-shaped tail lights – as the RS and EX, but has interior specifications to suit those who want more economy.
As such, the all-new Honda Civic, in all its guises, can provide the perfect – and simply stunning – solution to those in the hunt for the most desirable compact car out there in the market.
Anyone wishing test drive the brand new Honda Civic is welcome to visit DOMASCO’s Honda showroom on Khalifa Street between the Imam Muhammed Abdul Wahab Mosque and TV Roundabout.
