Opening hours across Qatar change during the month of Ramadan. While a number of offices and non-essential shops are closed because of COVID-19, supermarkets, banks and medical facilities will remain open and will continue to serve the public.
With the reimposition of COVID-19 restrictions, all establishments are urging everyone to avoid unnecessary trips outside, as most of the essential services may be availed online. All visitors are also urged to continue wearing masks and to practice social distancing while in public.
Please note that all ministries, government agencies and public bodies and institutions will be working for five hours only this Ramadan, from 9 am to 2 pm.

HAMAD MEDICAL CORPORATION (HMC)
All emergency and inpatient services across HMC’s network of hospitals will continue to operate as normal, 24-hours a day, seven days a week. However, changes to operating hours affect the number of services delivered remotely via the national COVID-19 helpline, 16000.
The OPD virtual clinics will run alongside the Urgent consultation clinics: Patients will be called for their virtual appointments between 9 am and 2 pm, Sunday to Thursday.
HMC Urgent Consultation Service is available seven days a week, from 8 am to 3 pm.
Mental Health Helpline is open Saturday to Thursday, from 9 am to 2 pm and from 9 pm to 2 am; and on Fridays, from 9 am to 2 pm
HMC Pharmacy Medication Home Delivery Service is open Saturday to Thursday, from 8 am to 3 pm. This service is closed on Fridays.
HMC Drug Information Service is open Saturday to Thursday, from 8 am to 3 pm. This service is closed on Fridays. Call 4026 0759.
The HMC Diabetes Hotline will operate seven days a week, from 8 am to 5:30 pm and from 7:30 pm to 11 pm. This service is accessible via 16099/4. The hotline is run by trained diabetes educators and physicians.
All Emergency Departments, Pediatric Emergency Departments and inpatient services across HMC’s network of hospitals will continue to operate as normal, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Blood Donor Center next to Hamad General Hospital is open Saturday to Thursday, from 8 am to 1 pm and from 6 pm to 12 am. The new Blood Donor Center opposite the Outpatient Department next to the Surgical Specialty Center is open from 6 pm to 12 am, Saturday to Thursday. This service is closed in the morning and both centres are closed on Fridays.
HMC Nesma’ak Customer Service
Nesma’ak Customer Service helpline, 16060 will operate from Sunday to Thursday, 7 am to 10 pm and on Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm
NATIONAL VACCINATION PROGRAMME
COVID-19 vaccination will continue during the holy month of Ramadan in all 27 PHCC health centres (by appointment only), at Qatar National Convention Centre (First shift 8 am – 4 pm, last entry at 3 pm. Second shift 7 pm – 1 am, last entry 12 am), and at the two drive-through vaccination centres in Lusail and Al Wakrah (1 pm to 12 am, last entry at 11 pm) for individuals receiving their second dose.
Another vaccination centre was also opened in the Industrial Area to accommodate eligible individuals in the said vicinity. This centre is open from 7 am to 7 pm and will only operate on a strict invitation-only basis.
- Individuals 40 years and older regardless of health conditions
- Individuals with moderate chronic medical conditions
- Healthcare professionals and other key workers in different ministries and industries, including teachers and school administration staff

MEDICAL COMMISSION AND BIRTH REGISTRATION OFFICES
The Medical Commission will receive visitors from 9 am until 5 pm during official working days. As for birth registration offices, they will receive requests for registration and issuance of birth certificates for newborns from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Women’s Health and Research Center, Sidra Medicine and Al Ahli Hospital.
Requests will only be entertained in the morning at Al Khor Hospital, Al Emadi Hospital and Doha Clinic Hospital. Meanwhile, the Human Services Office (Death Unit) is open from 9 am until 4 pm.
Visitors can complete the procedures for birth certificate registrations electronically through the MoPH website.
SUPERMARKETS AND GROCERY DELIVERY
Supermarkets and grocery stores in Qatar now offer home delivery either via a service delivery app or directly from their own online stores.
Al Meera offers home delivery service via their own Al Meera app and through their website almeera.online.
Carrefour offers home delivery service via the MAF Carrefour app and through their website, carrefourqatar.com. Delivery rates vary according to the total value of ordered goods.
- Minimum purchase requirement is QAR50
- Any purchase through their website is charged a delivery fee of QAR10 for orders value worth QAR50 to QAR100
- Free delivery for orders above QAR100
- Cash on delivery handling rate is QAR5
Family Food Centre offers home delivery via their website, family.qa or through 4141 3456. No delivery charge for orders above QAR300.
Lulu also has its own mobile app from which you can order groceries. You can also opt to visit their website at luluhypermarket.com and shop directly from there. Free delivery for orders above QAR200.
Monoprix offers a ‘Shop&Go’ service, minimum purchase requirement QAR99.

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB)
Fahes inspection centres at Al Mazrouaah, Wadi Al Banat/Mesaimeer, Al Shahaniya/Al Egda and Al Wakra/Al Wukair is open from 8 am to 4 pm, gate closing at 3:30 pm. Mobile Inspection Unit at Madinat Al Shamal/External is open from 8 am until 12 pm, with gate closing 15 minutes prior to end time.
Doha Festival City From 12 to 24 April, Doha Festival City is open from 10 am to 3 pm and from 7 pm to 12 am. The hypermarket will be open from 9 am to 12 continuously. From 25 April to 11 May, general mall trading hours will be from 10 am to 12 am, with an option to trade until 1 am. The hypermarket will follow the same schedule, from 9 am to 12 am.
Ramadan working hours at Ezdan Mall will be as follows:
- Shops and stores are open from 10 am to 3 pm and from 8 pm to 12 pm, Sunday to Wednesday. Work is extended until 1 am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Please note that stores are open only in the evenings on Fridays.
- Carrefour is open daily from 9 am until 2 pm, seven days a week. It closes on Fridays during prayer time, from 11 am to 12:30 pm.
