ACS Doha International School announced an exclusive partnership with Coerver Coaching, an elite global football coaching programme that will run in Doha until 2016.

It is part of ACS Doha’s commitment to providing excellent sports opportunities for students and enhancing the diverse range of extra-curricular activities that the school has to offer. ACS Doha’s Athletic Coordinator and one of the coaches of the Coerver Coaching programme, Chris Quinn, said:

Coerver Coaching have a very specific formula for achieving success and for developing confident and exciting players. The partnership with Coerver Coaching has been incredibly popular with the ACS community, and there are now almost 100 students, between 5-16 years of age, participating in the programme. ACS Doha offers coaching for students at every level, from beginner through to advanced, with football enthusiasts attending intense training sessions twice a week.

Coerver Coaching is a global football coaching programme inspired by the teachings of legendary Dutch coach Wiel Coerver and created in 1984 by Alfred Galustian and Chelsea great, Charlie Cooke. It is a soccer skills teaching method suited for all ages but especially for players aged 5-16 years old of all abilities and their parents, coaches and teachers. It is a method that focuses on Individual skills development and small group play. Coerver Coaching has been developing young players and educating coaches for 30 years. It has regional development hubs for Europe, the Americas and Asia and operates in 36 Countries. Coerver Coaching is endorsed and recommended by the top federations, associations, legends/experts of the game, club teams and corporations and has a 25-year partnership with adidas.

Throughout the two year partnership, ACS Doha will hold the Coerver Coaching license, with complete access to their curriculum and unique methodologies, providing a world class standard of football coaching to ACS Doha students.

ACS Doha trained four members of its staff who are now fully equipped to roll out the Coerver programme across Qatar. ACS Doha’s coaches travelled to Switzerland in August for specialised training and participated in further intensive onsite training in Doha at the beginning of this academic school year.

AC Doha International School is part of ACS International Schools and serves international and local communities in the State of Qatar. ACS Doha is co-educational, enrolling students aged 3-17 years from PreK- Grade 11. The school’s Grade 11 class opened in September 2014, with plans to open a Grade 12 class at the start of the next academic year, in September 2015.
