ACS International School Doha recently held a ceremony to mark the completion of the school’s first year at their new landmark school campus in Al Kheesa.

A commemorative plaque was unveiled at the school, in the presence of Head of School Robert Cody, with members of the Parent School Organisation in attendance. A student from ACS Doha also read out a personal message from ACS International Schools Chief Executive Tim Cagney.

Now fully established as ACS Doha’s new home, the COVID-secure campus spans 60,000 square metres and has been designed to accommodate almost 2,500 students. In addition to dedicated Early Childhood, Lower, Middle and High School buildings, the Al Kheesa campus facilities include a full-size football pitch, an all-weather athletics track, swimming pools, drama studios, music rooms, a wellness suite, science laboratories and well-stocked libraries.

Al Jaber Group WLL Chairman Mohammed Sultan Al Jaber sponsored the project. He also headed the group that managed the development and construction process. Speaking before the event, Al Jaber stressed the importance of the new campus in the context of Qatar’s ambitious growth plans.

This new campus benefits the existing school community and also serve emerging districts such as Lusail and The Pearl. I am proud to have partnered with ACS Doha to deliver an international school that enhances Qatar’s educational offering and resonates with the National Vision 2030.

Cody also expressed his delight in seeing the new campus come alive during the past year, as the students return to school.

We were excited to welcome back our school community to our state-of-the-art campus. Amazing facilities, combined with a nurturing yet rigorous approach to teaching and learning, will continue to help our students gain entry to some of the very best colleges and universities around the world.

In his personal message, Chief Executive Tim Cagney spoke of ACS International Schools’ commitment to Qatar. He said that after more than 50 years of providing international education in the UK and for a decade now, in Qatar – they see the new ACS Doha campus as a landmark in their development and a significant contribution to the growth of Qatar.

We are honoured to have worked closely with Al Jaber and the Al Jaber Group WLL on this important project. Our Doha school plays a key role in the ACS success story.

Offering an international and American curriculum, ACS Doha is the only school in Qatar to offer both the International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP) and the College Board’s Advanced Placement Programme (AP).

The unveiling event in the new campus on 4 June was followed by the first graduation. A total of 33 High School Diploma students and 16 IB Diploma students will graduate – many going on to prestigious universities in the USA, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Qatar and UAE.
