On Tuesday 1 October 2013, Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced that all preparations for holding the AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers are coming to an end.

The qualifiers will be held on 4 to 12 October 2013 and will witness the participation of the five teams that are in Group A. Group A teams who will be competing in Doha are Uzbekistan, Qatar, India, Turkmenistan, and Nepal. The winner of Group A alongside the winners of the other 8 groups, five from West zone and four from East will play in October 2014 finals along with six best placed sides and hosts Myanmar.

The host country, Qatar will play their first match against India on 4 October 2013 at 4:30 pm in Al Arabi Sports Club.

Director of Marketing and Communications of QFA, Khalid Al Kuwari, said:

As Qatar is the host country for the AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers, QFA is pleased to announce that all preparations for this championship have come to an end and we are more than ready to host these significant qualifying matches. We are eager to witness the upcoming matches and wish everyone good luck.’

The finals of the 38th edition will be held in Myanmar for the first time.
