The Albanian capital of Tirana hosted a big reception for the crew of Fath Al Khair 4, which is now touring the coasts of Europe and North Africa to introduce the country’s authentic maritime heritage and promote the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The reception was held at Iskandar Bick Central Square and attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Albania HE Ali bin Hamad Al Marri, and Tirana Municipality Mayor Arion Veljay. They hosted a dinner in honour of the crew and guests, including HE Fayez Mishari Al Jassem, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Albania.
The Albanian capital’s sports park also hosted football matches to promote the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and gifts were distributed to symbolise the tournament.
After Albania, the Fath Al Khair dhow will leave for the island of Slate, Croatia, on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea. They will then navigate to Puglia in eastern Italy, and after that to Venice in Italy, and then to the largest island in the Mediterranean – Sicily – to conclude the first phase of the Fath Al Khair 4 trip in Genoa, northern Italy, which is expected to arrive early October.
