In the fourth round of Qatar Superbike that took place on 16 and 17 January 2015 at Losail International Circuit, the Moto2 Australian rider, Anthony West, won both races.
After the races, West said:
Both races were good, the first race I felt better and for me the conditions were better as in the second race it was a bit dark and I went with the dark visor, so it was quite hard to see when the sun was behind the clouds so it was difficult to match the same times I was doing in the first race. Consistently I am happy because I am much faster than when I was last time here and the bike is getting better and it was also a fun race for me’ said West after the races.’
Alex Cudlin finished in second position in both races. He said:
I am happy this weekend, two seconds is nice and also nice to be on pole position. I didn’t had the speed of Anthony, he was too strong for me. The second race was more difficult than the first with the feeling with the bike and also it was difficult to see as I had the wrong visor. I am happy to come second because I cut points on Mishal but he is still a long way in front in the championship, so every point I can get is good. It’s been a successful weekend.’
The third position in the podium was for Mishal Al Naimi. He said:
I made a bad start and I lost some positions and I tried to catch the riders in front of me and overtake them, and after I overtook them I felt something wrong with my break and I slow down and I couldn’t finish only in third position but this result is good for the championship as I am still leading.
In the other categories, the Saudi rider, Abdulaziz Binladin, with a Kawasaki bike won both races in the Supersport category and Fahad Al Sowaidi riding a Honda bike came in second position also in both races. In the first race, Mahmmod Tannir from Lebanon finished third and in the second race, Jassim Al Thani got the third place.
For the Losail Asian Road Racing Series, the Hungarian female rider, Victoria Kis, won the first race of the day and Shelina Moreda from the USA won the second race.
The next round for Qatar Superbike is on 6 and 7 March 2015.
In the third round of the Qatar Challenge also host at Losail International Circuit on 16 and 17 January 2015, the win was for Mark Holroyd who got the pole position. The second position was for the French driver, Luc Mathern, and the third position for Shady El Mohandes from Egypt.
