As Part of GCC Traffic Week, Traffic Authority Honours Veteran Drivers
As part of the ongoing traffic week celebrations, the General Directorate of Traffic organised a honouring ceremony for the veteran drivers under the patronage and presence of Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim al Khulaifi, the director general of Public Security at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha Hotel on Tuesday 10 March 2015.
Among the dignitaries attended the event were Muhammad Saad Al Kharji, director general of Traffic and Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Radhi Al Hajiri, the Traffic Awareness and Information director along with directors of different departments at Ministry of Interior and GCC delegation members.
Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, the director general of Public Security honoured 20 veteran drivers on the occasion. Among the veterans honoured were Abdullah Muhammad Majid Al Maliki, who has completed 50 years of driving career and Sultan Saadoun Al Hajiri. All the veterans expressed their gratitude and pleasure for this glorious initiative presented by the Ministry of Interior and pointed out that it would inspire the young drivers to abide by the rules and drive safely.
Addressing the event, Lieutenant Colonel Al Hajiri said that the Traffic authority deemed it great pleasure to honour the veteran drivers who were exemplary models in their careers, committed to their job and strictly abided by the rules and regulations. He added that Ministry of Interior was committed to felicitate the senior citizens who served the nation sincerely and contributed their role to preserve safety and security in the country.
