Under this campaign, Health Promoting Malls (HPM) will offer people a range of opportunities for physical activities indoors as well as a comfortable walking environment. By offering opportunities for physical activities performed indoors. This year’s campaign promises to motivate the Community to walk more and experience the invaluable benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
This initiative objective is to engage the people of Qatar in a self-managed lifelong programme based on a moderate amount of daily healthy activity; aims to encourage each person to walk 10,000 steps and more a day in a non-competitive, recreational and social approach.
According to the global and local standards, the minimum, daily requirement of physical activity is at least 30 minutes, as one single period or isolated as three periods of 10 minutes. According to the individual’s target (e.g. weight loss), the total weekly workout period could be doubled.
