Aspire Zone Foundation, Civil Aviation Authority Sign MoU

The Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Qatar Meteorological Department of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) on 22 July 2013.

The agreement ensures exclusive ownership of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for the engineering and design concept of an outdoor air conditioning system for use in football stadiums and other open spaces. Under the agreement the QCAA is to provide the AZF with two decades worth of meteorological studies on Qatar.

The MOU was signed by Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud, Director General of Aspire Logistics – a subsidiary of AZF – and Ahmed Abdullah, Head of the Qatar Meteorological Department, who signed on behalf of the QCAA Chairman.

Both parties agreed to action the MOU as efficiently and effectively as possible in order to compile the required study, for which a team from each party will be allocated.

Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud said:

Signing this memorandum further supports AZF’s aim to foster research initiatives that strengthen the Foundation’s standing on the global platform as a source of technological innovation in sports. The international recognition of our existing IPR ownership for several internally developed innovations is additional proof of this,” said, Director General of Aspire Logistics.’
