Organised by Al Wajba Motors, Automobili Lamborghini presents the new Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 and Aventador LP700-4 Roadster in Doha, Qatar at the Lamborghini Qatar Roadshow 2014 at the Admiral’s club at The Ritz-Carlton Doha.

The new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster is the most exciting series production Lamborghini ever built and the new benchmark in the world of open-top luxury super sports cars. The new Huracán LP 610-4 is expected to be driven more than any other Lamborghini car.

Established in 2002, Al Wajba Motors is the exclusive dealer for Bentley (2002), Lamborghini (2004), Bugatti (2006) and McLaren in Qatar.

Aventador LP700-4

On the heels of the successful coupe introduced in Summer 2011, and with over 1,300 units already delivered to customers, the House of the Raging Bull is now offering the convertible version of the Aventador, which balances the ultimate driving experience with the ultimate in sports car sophistication.

The new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster can immediately be recognised by the unique profile of its upper area, which extends along newly designed geometric lines from the removable roof to the engine hood.

The two-piece roof is made entirely from carbon fiber using various technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite. These technologies guarantee maximum aesthetic performance and stiffness although each component is extremely light, weighing less than 6 kg. These two parts are removable, easy to handle, and being lightweight and simple to attach, can be stored in the front luggage compartment.

The rear pillar has been redesigned to offer total support for the removable roof, accommodate an automatic protection system for passengers, and provide the engine compartment with ample ventilation.

The engine hood on the Roadster differs from the hood on the coupé because of its central ‘spinal column’ with two pairs of hexagonal windows connected at the sides as if they were hyper-tech armor plates. Their purpose is to cool the engine, drain off rain water properly and allow for the V12 power unit to be admired.

The powered rear windshield not only influences the flow of air in the vehicle, but also controls the experience of the sound from the twelve-cylinder engine. The wind deflector, on the other hand, delivers almost complete calm inside the car, even at high speed. It rests on the front windshield frame and can likewise be stored in the luggage compartment when not in use.

The Aventador Roadster is also equipped with door windows with chamfered edges, which always ensure a perfect fit into the hard-top seal, and underline the sharp side profile of the car.

The body of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster sports a two-tone finish, as the windshield pillar, the two roof sections and the rear window area up to the ‘fins’ are painted in gloss black. The visual effect is that of a completely open vehicle with sleek lines combining perfectly balanced sportiness and elegance.

The range of colours available for the Roadster has been supplemented with a very light, metallic blue color, Azzuro Thetis, whose tone varies with the angle of the light.

Even the interior has a new look. The use of leather called Sabbia Nefertem highlights the superb hand-made craftsmanship of the upholstery from Sant’ Agata Bolognese and is a perfect match for the exterior in Azzuro Thetis. Finally, the new Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster also features new Dione 20”/21” rims with a daring, aggressive look. Crafted in light forged aluminum, they lower the weight of the vehicle by 10 Kg as compared with the standard set of rims.

The new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster boasts record performance. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only three seconds flat and has a maximum speed of some 350 km/h. These numbers, combined with a drive train featuring a centrally located, 6.5 liter aspirated V12 generating 700 hp, an ISR 7-speed gearbox and push-rod suspension make the new Aventador Roadster a unique super sports car with no direct competition.

Of course, the Roadster’s V12 also includes a cylinder deactivation system when the engine is working at partial capacity, while the innovative, instant Stop & Start system includes high-performance capacitors known as supercaps to awaken the engine. This is an absolute first in the super sports car segment.

The new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster is for the price of 300,000 euro, excluding taxes.

Huracán LP 610-4

With the newly developed Huracán LP 610-4 and successor to the highly successful Gallardo, the Italian super sports car manufacturer is redefining the benchmark in the segment. It unites mighty performance with wide-ranging new technologies for everyday use. President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, said:

With the Huracán, Lamborghini is writing the next chapter in its great history.’

With the Huracán LamborghiniLP 610-4, the starting point of the design process was the Huracán’s silhouette. The objective was to define the car with a single line stretching from the front end over the passenger cell to the rear. The side windows take on a hexagonal form that looks like a gem set into the profile of the Huracán. All lights, including the main headlamps, beam in LED technology – an absolute first in the super sports car segment.

The 12.3-inch TFT display can be configured in a number of different modes and provides the driver with all key information in a virtual format. The slender lines of the instrument mounts and the center tunnel are indicative of the lightness of the interior design. Fine materials distinguish the interior, which can be extensively individualised, while the extremely detailed craftsmanship delivers a highly refined sense of quality.

The newly conceived hybrid chassis of the Huracán LP 610-4 unites carbon-fiber and aluminum components. The ultra-light chassis forms the basis for the vehicle’s low dry weight of 1,422 kg guarantees the handling precision of a racing car.

The new V10 engine in the Huracán generates its phenomenal propulsion from a displacement of 5.2 liters. It produces a power output of 449 kW/610 hp at 8,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 560 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The new Iniezione Diretta Stratificata combines direct and indirect injection – achieving an increase in power and torque compared with the Gallardo and a decrease in fuel consumption and emissions.

With its power-to-weight ratio of just 2.33 kg per hp, the Lamborghini Huracán achieves absolutely breathtaking performance. The top speed of more than 325 km/h and the acceleration figures – zero to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, zero to 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds – offer an indication of its dynamics. Thanks in part to the Stop & Start technology, ECE average fuel consumption has dropped to 12.5 liters per 100 km (290 g CO2 per km).

The power generated by the ten-cylinder is delivered to the road via the new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF) and an all-wheel drive that also features a new hydraulic multi-plate clutch. Three different driving modes, spanning from road to race track, can be selected using a drive select switch in the steering wheel. The system is called ANIMA (Italian for Soul) – Adaptive Network Intelligent Management, and impacts the engine, the transmission, the all-wheel drive and the ESC handling system as well as other dynamic systems.

The wheels of the Lamborghini Huracán measure 20 inches in diameter, with the standard-fit carbon-ceramic brake system delivering exceptional stopping power. As an option, Lamborghini offers its new luxury super sports car with the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering variable steering system and MagneRide electromagnetic damper control. Both of these features are also integrated into ANIMA.

The Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 is priced at 169,500 euro, excluding taxes.
