Other guests who came to the ceremony included the president of QF-PUE Buthaina A Al Nuaimi, members of the PUE management and Board of Governors, parents, staff, faculty members, and other members of the QF community.

Al Nuaimi, as the keynote speaker, encouraged students to invest in knowledge and to contribute to the vision of Qatar, while forging a path for themselves in their careers.

Remember that the journey of learning does not end with receiving a certificate or a degree. You should continue to pursue knowledge and acquire skills at various levels, and in different fields, throughout your life. It is necessary that you benefit from what you have learned during your time at Awsaj Academy, not only to build your futures, but also as citizens who seek to secure a bright future for the coming generations.

You are now at a crossroads to decide the direction of your life. Work hard, embrace your cultural ethics, obey the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), and serve your homeland. Remember that with hard work, success will always follow you. Choose your path and set your goals wisely in order to meet your country’s expectations, because Qatar deserves the best from its citizens.’

Awsaj Academy Director Mark Hughes, who awarded diplomas to students also offered some inspirational words.

That trapeze bar is called transition and today it has the names of all of you graduates etched onto it. Those transitional moments in our lives are incredibly rich places. They should be honoured, anticipated with joyfulness, hope, and optimism, because even with all the anxiety, uncertainty and the very natural fears that can accompany them, these are profound moments of excitement, anticipation and hopefulness, because all things are possible in this magical and wondrous journey through life.’

Sufyan Khan is this year’s valedictorian, while Areej Al Kaabi and Ghanim Al Shaabi are this year’s salutatorians.
