The General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, recently met with the ambassador of the United Kingdom to the State of Qatar, His Excellency, Ajay Sharma. The meeting was held to enhance cultural ties between the two countries, through the joint-cooperation of each country’s cultural entities.
The British ambassador presented a proposal to host an event in Katara this November that showcases the British culture. Dr Al-Sulaiti enthusiastically welcomed the proposal. He said that Katara is keen on providing an authentic platform that showcases international art. He added that it stems from Katara’s ‘keenness’ to build bridges between people from all walks of life, and a better understanding of their various cultures and traditions.
The British ambassador expressed his appreciation and expressed his astonishment of Katara’s facilities, architecture, and its services. Dr Al-Sulaiti also presented a memorable souvenir to the British envoy during their meeting.
