The second day of Build Your House (BYH) Exhibition 2022, welcomed an amazing number of visitors, exhibitors, speakers, plus participants to the Junior Interior Designer Competition. This year’s event is ongoing at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) until today, 30 March.

This collaborative platform, which seeks to stimulate the real estate and construction sectors, brought together leading industry experts, government entities and Qatari nationals, together under one roof.

BYH Exhibition 2022 speakers

BYH Exhibition 2022 provides attendees with an opportunity to find the right consultants to oversee their new home build or renovation project and a chance to browse and find the materials they need for their project. Visitors enjoyed exploring over 150 exhibitors and two international pavilions, featuring renowned brands from Turkey and Portugal, and intelligent home technology and renewables, architectural trends, and a wide array of new materials.

The exhibition also showcased its support to Qatar’s future designers with its Best Interior Design Competition,  held in collaboration with Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar).

Winners were presented with certificates and the opportunity to display their designs in the exhibition.

  • First place – Jood Elbeshti
  • Second runner up – Noor Abdulmalik
  • Third place – Laura Al Fardan

First place winner Joud ElBeshti said the design process has been a fun challenge and knowing that it will be exhibited in the BYH was also a driving factor for them to do their best.

According to VCUarts Qatar Interior Design Assistant Professor, Dr Haithem A El-Hammali, for their students to take their projects out of the classroom and into the real world is an invaluable educational opportunity.

Therefore, I believe this event is also a platform for our talented young students to promote their design ideas and skills to the potential professional or homeowner visitors who are looking to build or refurbish their homes.

Sharing Conference / Smart and Future Living Conference

The Knowledge Sharing Conference and Smart and Future Living Conference enable visitors to gain information about the complete construction cycle, explore new architectural trends and discover smart technology for assistive living.

This year’s conference offers a new format, which is divided into three sections: each day starts with presentations given by government agencies; specialised topics for the latest innovations in smart home technology, sustainability, and modern lifestyle, which will start daily from 2:30 pm, followed by lectures in cooperation with the American Society of Architects in the evening.

The BYH Exhibition is open until today, 30 March, at the QNCC. For more information about the exhibition, visit  buildyourhouseqatar.com.
