The cultural village promises to host special events where modern and traditional collide in a festival like no other at Katara this year from 9 July to 7 August 2013, beginning from 10 am to midnight. Calligraphy exhibitions, Islamic lectures inspired by the spirituality of this holy month, and several more Ramadan-related events are in store for you and your family this summer at Qatar’s own cultural village.

Islamic Lectures

lecturesKatara is preparing to host a group of best Islamic lecturers to give public lectures. The schedule contains 10 lectures:

On the first day of Ramadan Tuesday 9 July 2013, Sheikh Anes Sa’eed Msfir will give a lecture called ‘Host your guest’

On Thursday 11 July 2013, Sheikh Abdulhameed Al Bilal will give a lecture titled ‘Achieving a Good or Bad Sealing State at Death’

On Saturday 13 July 2013, Sheikh Sultan Al Dghailbi will give a lecture called ‘Ramadan has Changed Me’

On Monday 15 July 2013, Sheikh Mohammed Hussain Ya’qoob will give a lecture called ‘Be fasting’

On Wednesday 17 July 2013, Sheikh Uthman Al Khamees will give a lecture called ‘O my slaves’

On Friday 19 July 2013, Sheikh Adil Al Mu’awdah will give a lecture titled ‘How Does the Hunger Become a Worship?’

On Sunday 21 July 2013, Sheikh Sa’eed Al Misfir will give the lecture ‘The Prizes’

On Tuesday 23 July 2013, Sheikh Ibrahim Al Ajmi will give lecture ‘The Chances of Ramadan’

Later in the month, Sheikh Sa’ad Al Ateeq will give a lecture called ‘Emancipation from the fire of hell’, and Sheikh Ahmad Al Qadhi will give the lecture ‘Picking the results’.

Kids’ workshops

It is worthy to mention that the cultural village, Katara, will launch the second Qur’an memorising course, starting from 10 July until 1 August 2013. For boys who are between 5 and 12 years old, the course will be at Katara Grand Mosque, and for the same age, girls, will be in the Golden Mosque. Boys and girls will be divided into two groups according to their age, the first group for the kids between 5 and 8 years old, and the second group for the kids between 9 to 12 years old, the registration for the course from 3to 8 July 2013. Besides there will be Arabic calligraphy workshops under the supervision of international specialists.

Beach football Third Competition in Katara

Under the sponsorship of Al-Frjan committee of football, Katara will organise the third beach football competition, which will start from 11 to 28 July 2013 after 9 pm in Katara beach. The registration is open for whom older than 17 years old, the winning team will gain the first place cup, golden medal and QR50,000, the second team will gain the second place cup, silver medal and QR40,000 and the third team will gain the 3rd place cup, bronze medal and QR20,000, in addition prizes for the best player, the goalkeeper and scorer each will gain QR5,000, the last day for registration is 7 July 2013.
