Chevron Phillips Chemical Company Qatar LLC (Chevron Phillips Chemical Qatar) has donated QAR 930,000 to Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) to launch the second annual ‘Together for Benevolence’ campaign, a charitable welfare program to support expatriate workers in Qatar.

Michael F. Zeglin, president of Chevron Phillips Chemical Qatar, and Ricardo Costa Almeida, human resources specialist for Chevron Phillips Chemical Qatar, presented the donation check to QRCS representatives Issa Al Ishaq, Head of Human Resources, Ahmed Al Khulaifi, Head of General Resource Mobilization, and Hamid Moharar, Head of Corporate Resource Mobilization.

The program will expand to include 25,000 road, building, and cleaning workers in several districts, sites and organisations, including Qatar Foundation, Qatar National Museum, Industrial Area, and Al Khor City.

Expected to last for two months, the program has three phases: (1) distribution of 10,000 food meals (QAR 100,000), (2) distribution of 10,000 water and juice bottles (QAR 30,000), and distribution of 5,000 pieces of hygiene kits (QAR 800,000).

Commenting on this initiative, Al Ishaq commended the humanitarian and social approach adopted by Chevron Phillips Chemical Qatar. He said:

Day after day, the company proves its belief in, and proper fulfillment of its duties towards society, through recurrent generous donations to QRCS’s humanitarian campaigns and activities in Qatar. Everyone is urged to contribute to such blessed efforts, which directly serve the best interests of those society members who need support, inspired by the principle of social responsibility and making a positive difference in the lives of the vulnerable.’
