CID Arrests Asian Expat for Illegal Selling of Medical Supplies
The Criminal Investigation Department of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation arrested an Asian expat for selling medical supplies illegally.
The department received information that the suspect was selling medical supplies illegally at exorbitant prices. After completing the required procedures, he was arrested in possession of a large number of medical supplies including 800 medical gloves, 7,900 medical masks and 1,502 medical uniforms. Authorities also seized antibiotics, thermometers and cash amounting to QAR200,000.
On investigation, the man confessed to purchasing the medical supplies from various pharmacies in the country and reselling them to the public illegally, exploiting the need for demand in light of global health conditions. After completing the necessary procedures, the suspect was referred to concerned authorities for further legal measures.
