With the situation slowly returning to normal, Discover Qatar in partnership with Qatar Airways are working together to offer returning residents and nationals a convenient and safe welcome, guided by the government’s four-phase programme.

Returning Qatari nationals will be provided hotel and transfer packages during the first phase. Individuals looking to return to Qatar are advised to read all the information provided on the website before booking, to ensure that terms and conditions are fully understood.

Non-Qatari QID holders, however, are asked NOT to book a Welcome Home package until approval to return to Qatar is confirmed.

Updates will be announced regularly on discoverqatar.qa and on Discover Qatar’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

All permitted arrivals into Qatar must go into government-approved hotels to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Qatar. Please note that the rules are subject to change.

Who are Eligible to Return?

Qatari nationals will be allowed to return during the first phase, from 15 June to 15 September. But they need to comply with these requirements:

Qatari nationals and their companions will need to book and pay for one of the approved quarantine hotel packages for a period of 14 days before being allowed to return. Check in at Hamad International Airport will not be permitted without a confirmed quarantine reservation, if arrival back into Qatar is before 15 September. Only Qatari nationals and their approved travelling companions will be permitted to arrive in Qatar before 1 August 2020.

QID holders will be allowed to return from 1 August to 15 September, but they need to have an authorisation to travel to Qatar and a confirmed 14-day government approved welcome home package reservation.

If you plan to return after 15 September, Discover Qatar recommends waiting until closer to your planned date of arrival in Qatar before confirming your return travel plans, in case any of the quarantine requirements have changed.

Please note that only QID holders from selected ‘low risk’ countries will be permitted to travel from 1 August, and pre-authorisation to enter Qatar will be required for all QID holders.

Booking a Quarantine Package

For all permitted arrivals, quarantine bookings can only be made at Qatar Airways Holidays in partnership with Discover Qatar. Bookings can be amended up to 24 hours prior to arrival, without any penalty. There is no refund for any unused quarantine reservations or if you fail to check in on the date of your arrival.

You can choose from a list of different star-rated hotels available. All  hotel reservations will be on full board basis – with breakfast, lunch and evening meal as a minimum. Rooms can be shared only with direct relatives. A maximum of two adults and one child, six years or younger, may share a room.
