As part of the third edition of QITCOM, which is taking place in Qatar from 26 to 28 May 2014 at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), ictQatar, TumuhaTec and Uber have organised a 24-hour Appathon on Sunday 25 May 2014, which will be attended by Qatar’s technology and telecommunications gurus.
The Appathon is a competitive coding marathon focused on applications that bring idea generators, developers, designers together in teams of five to six people for the chance to propose and build their own apps. Developers, designers and entrepreneurs will meet, form teams and build their apps. The teams will be challenged to develop the best application to compete for the prize-pool. You’ll be challenged to build the best app related to sport, culture or entertainment in Qatar in 24 hours. Choose your theme, build your app and be awarded. Everyone who wants to create an app is welcome. Participants can come with their team, alone or team up with others at the Appathon.
Teams can build a mobile app, a web app or an embedded software app. They will be supported by QITCOM team of mentors, which consists of developers and digital specialists. At the end of the event, all the applications will be demoed in front of a jury, which will select the ‘Best Application’.
