Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Doha Appoints New Cluster General Manager
Bruno Hivon has been appointed as the new General Manager of both the 378-room Crowne Plaza and the 307-room Holiday Inn Doha – The Business Park effective March 2018. Bruno brings with him over 25 years’ experience in the hotel and tourism industry.
Before joining IHG, Bruno spent four years with Warwick Hotels and Resorts, first as General Manager then as Regional General Manager overseeing the company portfolio in the Middle East. Prior to 2013, Bruno spent seven years working with Emirates Group as the GM for Emirates Hotels & Resorts, and later as the Regional Manager of Destination Development for Emirates Holidays. During his time with the company, Bruno gained valuable insight into the management of a large, international corporation and tackling large-scale operations, as well as a fascinating perspective on the GCC and global tourism trends.

Bruno has extensive pre-opening hotel experience, having worked on six property openings, three of which as the general manager. Seeing operationally what it takes to successfully open a hotel has given Bruno in-depth knowledge into the everyday running of a hotel.
With experience throughout Canada, Cayman Islands, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, the UK, Maldives and more than 17 years in the UAE, Bruno brings a wealth of international experience to his new role at IHG.
