Dar Al Sharq and The Peninsula will launch the ‘Qatar Labors Rights Protection’ progress report book on 1 May 2015, which marks the celebration of International Workers’ Day.

The book will be officially launched at a press conference on 3 May 2015 under the patronage of Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and will comprise 350 pages of Arabic content which will be widely distributed locally and internationally to all concerned entities.

The book launch will complement the second conference on ‘Protection of Workers Rights in Qatar’ on 3 May 2015, organised by Dar Al Sharq, which recognises a key component of the Qatar National Vision 2030 that aims to create an advanced society in Qatar capable of sustaining its development and providing a high standard of living for all its people.

The one-day conference and subsequent book launch will bring together local government officials, representatives of international and local rights organisations and decision makers from private companies to network, discuss and debate the pertinent issue of laborers’ rights protection and develop policies and recommendations that will benefit the large migrant workforce and assist with sustained growth and development of Qatar.

United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari shareholding company and a socially responsible establishment, has signed up as the gold sponsor of the book.
