For the first time, Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q) has sponsored Doha College to purchase equipment for its media, film and photography students. NU-Q has provided a for a full media kit for the Year 12 and 13 students studying A and (I)GCSE levels.

Doha College Head of Media Studies Amit Jadeja said the equipment would help foster talent and develop students’ potential.

Northwestern University Qatar is highly regarded for its approach to media and arts and we are delighted to have their support. This generous sponsorship package by the University will enable our students to continue to develop their skills with a view to furthering their education at quality institutions such as Northwestern University Qatar.’

Dean and CEO of Northwestern University in Qatar Everette Dennis said the University had seen very talented students come from Doha College.

Doha College Year 12 students Abdulla Abu-Wasel and Sanaz Harandi welcomed news of the partnership with Northwestern University Qatar, as both plan to study media at university.

Abdulla said:

Now we have more cameras and filming equipment we don’t need to wait for cameras to be free and we can experiment and practice much more.’

Sanaz said:

I am really looking forward to using this equipment and also taking part in the multi media workshops at Northwestern University so I can increase my knowledge.’
