Children at Doha English Speaking School were privileged to have had a visit from the National British Men’s Artistic Gymnastics team on Monday.
The gymnasts include Brinn Bevan, who represented Great Britain in the Rio 2016 Olympics and Dan Purvis and Sam Oldham who both represented Great Britain at London 2012.
Sean Sibley, Headteacher, said:
At DESS we often invite inspirational athletes and other adults from different fields of expertise to our school to speak with our children about how they have achieved their goal and reached their full potential through hard work, determination and team work. We think these are fantastic values that could inspire our pupils and give our pupils role models to look up to. We are delighted to have the National British Men’s Artistic Gymnastics team here today sharing this with our children.’
The British team are here in Qatar on ‘warm weather training’ and took time out of their busy schedule to visit DESS, where children were able to attend an assembly with the team and ask them questions. The visit was kindly organised by Qatar Gymnastics Federation and The Gym Academy.
