dia-ramadan-tent-activitiesDoha International Airport (DIA) will be sponsoring a series of exclusive Suhoor gatherings at the Ramadan Tent organised by the Airport Security Department and Airport Immigration Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) between Sunday 21 July to Sunday 28 July 2013 opposite the Oryx Rotana Doha Hotel.

The series of Suhoors commenced on Sunday 21 July 2013 with a special evening held for dignitaries and key officials from MoI and DIA. The collaboration reiterates the longstanding relationship between both organisations.

In keeping with the long-practiced tradition during mid-Ramadan, a Garanga’oh evening was held on Monday 22 July 2013 for children who were entertained by a host of activities including musical entertainment, story-telling and receiving of gifts.

The Garanga’oh celebrations will continue again this evening with a special edition to include children with special needs. In addition, Qatar Airways will be hosting children from The Shafallah Centre at the Ramadan Tent. The children can look forward to mingling and playing with other children while enjoying exciting gifts.

A series of Islamic lectures, held by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, will also take place at the tent from Thursday 25 July to Saturday 27 July 2013. Held between 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm, the lectures are open to the public and aim to bring people together in conjunction with the auspicious occasion of Ramadan.

The Suhoor evenings will conclude on Sunday 28 July 2013 with a special event organised by MoI to honour DIA as the exclusive sponsor.

DIA’s sponsorship of the event is in line with its commitment to continue its strong partnership with dia-ramadan-tentMoI in enforcing airport regulations and security to enrich passenger experience at DIA. The airport, which currently handles more than 21.1 million passengers a year, has undergone a dramatic change over the past three years, virtually doubling in size to cope with the huge demand for air travel to and from Qatar, spearheaded by the huge infrastructure improvements taking place in the country.
