In collaboration with more than 50 local organisations and innovators, WISE organises Doha Learning Days (DLD) from 14 to 19 November 2019 in the Ceremonial Court and Green Spine in Education City as a six-day experiential learning festival that convenes the local community in an exciting exploration of education through a range of innovative and meaningful activities co-curated with partners.

Torba Farmers Market will launch in parallel to DLD on Saturday 16 November. Eco-friendly vendors will curate workshops around sustainability throughout the festival. Kaffeinated will feature eight vendors that specialise in artisanal coffee and snacks.

Offshoot activities will take place in and around Education City, which will be curated and led by partners. All activities and sessions are free. However, registration may be required. For more information or to register, click here.

Thursday 14 November

14 – 15 November (RSVP) – WORDS AND STRING
As part of the opening night, Words & Strings will be hosting a music and poetry workshop that promises to be a unique and engaging experience.

14 – 16 November – DRUMMING QATAR
Drumming Qatar will take participants through a journey of rhythm and harmony with their percussion orchestra

14 – 16 November – FABLAB
FabLab will be hosting a number of sessions that introduce participants to STEM through interactive workshops.

14 – 17 November (RSVP) – GENERATION AMAZING
Generation Amazing will be hosting a number of football activities based in the Green Spine.

14 – 18 November – MICRO:BIT
A renowned BBC initiative, Micro:Bit are visiting this year’s festival to host a number of workshops focused on technology and sustainability.

14, 16 and 18 November – EDUCATION ABOVE ALL (EAA)
Interested in community development? Do you see yourself as an activist with new ideas on how to change the world? Come and visit EAA, and discover how you can become part of their ongoing youth advocacy programme.

BEME will be hosting a number of workshops that focus on mental wellbeing, cognitive ability and the body.

GoCode will be hosting a number of different workshops for all ages that explore coding and AI technology.

14 – 19 November (RSVP) – BEDAYA
Bedaya will be hosting a number of sessions that will develop soft skills around entrepreneurialism and leadership – all ages are welcome.

14 – 19 November – MOLECULAR DOHA
Visitors of all ages will be invited to explore science in a new and interactive way with their sessions – The Story of Sound and Nutritional Chef.

14 – 19 November – IBTECHAR
Visitors are invited to take part in a number of ‘tinkering’ workshops that combine science and creativity in a new and exciting way.

14 – 19 November – QATAR READS
Qatar Reads will be hosting the Library of Wonders, an interactive maze that takes young learners on a fact-finding adventure.

14 – 19 November – PHONE ART QATAR
Phone Art Qatar will be hosting an exclusive photography exhibition. This will also be used to engage participants in a number of workshops and discussions around modern photography and art.

14 – 19 November – PALLAS ARTS
In collaboration with Pallas Arts, DLD will be working with local and international artists to facilitate ongoing art workshops and discussions.

14 and 19 November (RSVP) – QATAR DEBATE
Visitors are invited to take part in Qatar Debate’s public debate sessions, exploring themes around community identity and global citizenship in the 21st century.

Friday 15 November

15 November (RSVP) – DANIEL MATALLANA
Visitors will be invited to take part in meditation and personal development sessions that aim to offer to help you connect with a deeper sense of self – open to all ages.

15 November – RESIDENTS LIFE
Students from across Education City will be hosting a number of activities that explore sustainability, community development, and soft skill development.

15 – 16 November – GEEK EXPRESS
Students will be challenged to code, build and design. Working together, students will be able to make machines that they have designed themselves and put them into action.

15 – 16 November – MADA
MADA will be hosting coding literacy sessions aimed at students with special needs and their families

15 – 18 November (RSVP) – YAMA YOGA
Yama Yoga will be hosting a number of different sessions around wellbeing, meditation and yoga throughout the festival.

15 – 19 November – QATAR LEADERSHIP CENTRE (QLC)
Students from QLC will be hosting a number of workshops and debates that promise to engage and challenge you.

Saturday 16 November

16 November – VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY QATAR (VCUarts Qatar)
Experts from VCUarts Qatar will demonstrate how modern educational spaces can empower children and learns to be more active members in their educational journey.

16 November – QEERI
As part of DLD’s focus on sustainability, QEERI will be hosting a number of sessions exploring the connection between modern sustainability and technology.

16 November (RSVP) – COLLEGE & CAREER PREP WITH QAST
Qatar Academy STEM will be hosting a session on Saturday 16 that aims to provide insight into the college application process both here and abroad – great for students and families.

16 November – YOUNG WRITERS PROGRAM
This year, the Young Writer’s Program will be hosting their Open Mic Night at QNL.

16 November – BEST BUDDIES X BRAIN EDUCATION MIDDLE EAST
A co-curated activity between Best Buddies & Brain Education, this session will help SEN students develop and enhance brain functions and their overall wellbeing through body movement. Benefits include improved awareness, concentration and emotional balance.

16 – 17 November – QATAR UNIVERSITY
Qatar University’s College of Law will be hosting an exhibition throughout the festival that presents female leaders and change makers.

16 – 18 November (RSVP) – SWASTHI YOGA WITH VISHNU
Doha’s Swasthi Yoga will be offering a number of sessions around yoga and meditation that promise to help visitors with stress and anxiety

16 – 18 November – EIDOS
Visitors of all ages are invited to explore questions linked to the modern technological age through interactive workshops and activities.

LEGO Serious Play will explore mental health, family wellbeing, and relationships all through the medium of LEGO.

One of DLD’s key partners focused on inclusion, Renad Academy will be hosting a free taster session for parents looking for guidance around children with Autism and how to best serve their needs both in and out of the home.

17 November –  QATAR ACADEMY STEM FEMALE EMPOWERMENT TALKS
As part of our Girls’ Empowerment Day, Qatar Academy STEM will be featuring their students in a series of female empowerment talks exploring themes related to leadership and innovation.

17 November –  GIRLS’ EMPOWERMENT DAY: SPEED MENTORING
For our female students, DLD will be inviting selected groups to take part in a speed mentoring session with female leaders, entrepreneurs and changemakers from the local community.

17 – 18 November – EXXONMOBIL: STEM SPEAKER SERIES & GIRLS IN ENGINEERING
ExxonMobil will be hosting a number of sessions and speakers events during the Girls’ Empowerment Day, specifically focusing on women in Science, Technology and Engineering.

Monday 18 November

18 November – KidZania Edu Zummit
As part of DLD, KidZania is organising an engaging workshop for educators, focusing on the importance of role play in the learning process and building a creative approach to social mobility. The two-hour workshop called The Role We Play will take place at their headquarters in Aspire Zone.

18 – 19 November – QCRI
QCRI will be hosting a number of interactive workshops and engaging workshops specifically for young learners.

Tuesday 19 November 

19 November – COFFEE WITH FAMILY HOPE & CO.
As part of DLD’s focus on inclusivity, Family Hope, alongside other experts in special needs and accessibility will be on hand to answer any questions during this informal coffee afternoon session.

19 November – QATAR LEADERSHIP CENTRE (QLC): GLOBAL IMPACT AWARDS
QLC will be presenting narratives that explore how they have been able to develop leadership skills and global citizenship, the aim of this session is to inspire other female students to take part in a program that prepares them to be future leaders.

19 November – JASON SILVA
Futurist and philosopher Jason Silva will be speaking at DLD.
