An initiative that started between Katara Hospitality and Marriott International is now becoming a reality. Together with partners Cornell University, EFE Education for Employment and INJAZ Al Arab;  and as part of the Qatar Marriott Worldwide Business Council (QMWBC), on 3 May 2017 representatives from eight Marriott properties in Doha: The W Doha Hotel & Residences, The St. Regis Doha, The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, Sharq Village & Spa, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Doha Marriott Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha and the Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel came together to show their commitment to developing local talent.

Marriott International representatives from the Middle East & Africa region: Sayed Haggag, Market Director of Human Resources MEA/Africa and Bassam Al-Monthiry, Senior Talent Acquisition Manager MEA/Africa were among the speakers.

The objective of the said programme is to provide young aspiring Qataris with an opportunity to be immersed in all areas of the hospitality industry during a 6 – 12 month period. Partaking in Tahseen programme will allow its participants to engage and interact with some of the hospitality’s key players enabling them to take advantage of developing for managerial opportunities within an exciting industry of hospitality.

The presentation was also attended by General Managers and Human Resources leaders from all 8 Marriott properties in Doha which provided engaging conversations and opportunities for participants to ask questions about the programme. The presentation was very interactive and participants had the chance to answer quiz questions and win exciting presents from all the hotels.

The participants enjoyed a lunch break inspired by Marriott’s exclusive event platform called Meetings Imagined developed around the idea that “Every meeting has a purpose”.
