Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, issued the ministerial decision regarding the annual Academic Calendar this Monday, 10 January.

In accordance with the provisions of the decision, school staff will start work for the 2022-2023 academic year on 14 August 2022, while students will begin school on 16 August. The second semester will start on 25 December 2022.

The decision also specified the start and end date of all events, programmes and activities, including exams and vacations and the beginning and end of each semester.

The half-year vacation of the academic year will be from 20 November until 22 December. Vacation for academic staff for the next academic year will start from 18 June 2023 until 17 August 2023. The last exam of the academic year will be on 6 June 2023.

Adapting to all conditions

In-person classes in Qatar remain suspended until 27 January in all public and private schools, including kindergartens. MOEHE affirms its determination to continue the educational process by adapting to all conditions and reminds everyone that distance learning is an integral part of this process and that attendance will be recorded.

The MOEHE calls on students to fully commit to online classes for their own benefit and urges parents to follow up on their children’s attendance of lessons through the distance learning system.
