Eid Al Adha 2019 Opening Hours

Opening hours

Eid Al Adha or the ‘Feast of Sacrifice‘ is one of the most important holidays on the Islamic calendar. Eid al Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al Hijjah, the 12th and final month in the Islamic calendar. As the exact day is based on lunar sightings, the date may vary between countries.

Ministries and Public Institutions

Following the observance of Eid Al Adha in Qatar, private and government offices will be closed from Sunday, 11 August, until Thursday, 15 August, except for some establishments.

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC)

All emergency and inpatient services across its network of hospitals operating, as usual, 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week.

Normal timings for the following:

  • Emergency Department at the Heart Hospital (for cardiac patients only)
  • Emergency Department of the Women’s Wellness and Research Centre

The majority of Outpatient Departments (OPD) will be closed on 11 August and re-open on 14 August. OPD clinics that are open will be supported by administrative and clinical support services, including pharmacies.

The NCCCR’s Radiotherapy Unit will remain open during its regular hours of 7 am to 3 pm, Sunday to Thursday. The Day Care Unit will be closed on 11 and 12 of August.

Call HMC Nesma’ak at 16060 for appointment rescheduling or other information. Nesma’ak will be closed on 11, 12, and 13 August and will reopen on 14 August with normal working hours from 7 am to 10 pm. Banks

Qatar Central Bank (QCB) announced that Eid Al Adha holiday for all banks operating in the country will start on Sunday 11 August and the banks will resume work on the 14 August.

Museums in Qatar

QM (Qatar Museums) has stated that all their museums and galleries will be closed on the first day of Eid- Museum of Islamic Art, National Museum of Qatar, Mathaf and Doha Fire Station.

Car Showrooms 

Honda Showroom (DOMASCO) will close on the two days of Eid and reopen on the third day of Eid from 8 am – 8 pm.
