‘Eid Ka Chand’, an entertainment Eid show of songs by famous local expatriate singers from Qatar in Malayalam, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Punjabi and Tamil languages and cinematic and Nepalese dances enthralled thousands of expatriate workers in Qatar, especially from the Northern areas of the State.
The event was organized jointly by the Community Policing Section of North Security Department and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior in association with Sameeksha, the art and cultural wing of Qatar Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre ( KMCC) at Al Khor Sports Club on first day of Eid, Tuesday, 15 October 2013 from 5.30 pm – 9.30 pm. More than 5000 labors from different parts of the country attended the show.
Inaugurating the program, the Community Policing Section officer from North Security Department Lt Shaheen Rashid Al Atheeque Al Dosari congratulated the audience on the occasion of Eid Al Adha and thanked them for their active participation in the event.
He also thanked and appreciated the officials of Qatar KMCC, the members of its art and cultural wing ‘Sameeksha’, members of Al Khor KMCC Committee and office bearers of Non Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA) for their sincere support and immense interest in associating with the Ministry of Interior to organize this event successfully.
On behalf of Sameeksha of Qatar KMCC, famous local singers from Doha Saleem Pavaratti, Noushad, Arya Krishnan, Nithin, Gayathri, Abhishek, Muhammed Eisa (Ali Intl.) and Faisal Nallalam presented songs in Malayalam, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Punjabi and Tamil languages. The performance of the artists from Sariga musical troupe from Doha Harib Hussain, Afasal Kollam and Fida Fathima enthralled the audience and Nepalese dance presented by Sandhya group of NRNA was another attraction of the show.
