Talks and Workshops for Adults at NMoQ: Discovering the Al Zubarah Qur’an
In the year 1806 a beautiful two volume Qur’an was produced in the coastal town of Al Zubarah. The Qur’an is now on display at the National Museum of Qatar in the gallery titled ‘Life by the Coast’. Come along to this special event to find out more about who transcribed this holy book and the wider context of its production in Al Zubarah over 200 hundred years ago. Artists Ammar Al Dusuki and Reem Al Askari will lead a workshop exploring the elaborate calligraphy and design of the Qur’an and use this as inspiration to create personalised artwork. This event will be in Arabic.
Only 20 seats available, pre-registration required via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
