Hiwaraat Conference Series: Gender in Foreign Policy

Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) invites you to attend their upcoming conference exploring “Gender in Foreign Policy” on 18 April at the Georgetown campus in Education City.  The Opening remarks begin at 9:30 am.

The conference—a continuation of the innovative Hiwaraat series—addresses gendered approaches to foreign policy and diplomacy, the gender aspects of foreign policy in conflict situations with a focus on Gaza, Afghanistan, and Sudan, and the impact of artificial intelligence, with its role and risks in policy and practice.

This is an opportunity to engage with prominent speakers, including leading diplomats, public officials, academics, representatives of civil society, members of UN agencies, and students.

The distinguished participant line-up includes:

  •      H.E. Dalia Grybauskaitė, former President of Lithuania
  •      H.E. Ghulam Hoosein Asmal, Ambassador of South Africa to Qatar
  •     Dr Safwan Masri, Dean, Georgetown Qatar
