Award-winning photographer Jessica Fulford-Dobson will present her series of striking portraits, Skate Girls of Kabul at QM Gallery, Katara Cultural Village. The exhibition tells the extraordinary story of Afghan girls who took up skateboarding, thanks to Skateistan, an Afghan charity that builds skate parks as a way of getting children from disadvantaged families back to school.
Under the visionary guidance of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar Museums (QM) is proud to present the series, viewed by more than 74,000 visitors during its two-week run at London’s Saatchi Gallery, will bring to life the colourful, and free flowing spirit of these young girls, offering a new perspective on the skateboarding culture.
