IDAM by Alain Ducasse

Experience the signature gastronomic pleasures from Alain Ducasse restaurants starting off with IDAM by Alain Ducasse (IDAM) at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA). Established in 2013, IDAM is the first foray of the Michelin-star restaurateur and architect of flavours, Alain Ducasse, into the Middle East.

Located on the top floor of MIA, IDAM celebrates an iconic landmark in Qatar in an environment that seamlessly blends local tradition with modernity and offers picture-perfect views of the Doha skyline. The spectacular scenery is matched with an exquisite interior created by French designer Phillipe Starck, fusing modernity with the classics to offer IDAM a dynamic environment with an Arabian touch.

IDAM features contemporary Mediterranean dishes with a twist of eclectic Arabian flavours, prepared using fresh and sustainably produced ingredients enhanced with a sophisticated balance. Loyal patrons, as well as those who looking for new culinary adventures, are welcome to enjoy the rich menu that complements their cultural experience after a visit to the galleries of the iconic MIA.

From one iconic landmark to another, one finds a gem of a pearl at the National Museum of Qatar (NMOQ), Jiwan – where the desert meets the sea. Jiwan reconnects with the past yet moves forward to the future.  It takes one back to Qatar’s culinary roots and reinvents familiar flavours to offer a sophisticated simplicity of sharing plates.

Displaying great pride in Qatar and its vision for self-sufficiency, Jiwan’s sustainable menu embraces seasonal homegrown produce. The restaurant’s ever-changing selection of dishes offers guests the freshest ingredients while preserving natural food resources.

Inspired by Qatar’s nature and Bedouin lifestyle, Jiwan’s unique design by prominent architect Koichi Takada appeals to the curious explorer who likes to wander through the past to enjoy a new understanding of the world around them. Guests are invited to dine amongst the dunes of Khor Al Udaid (Inland Sea) or experience extraordinary seascape views from the outdoor terrace where they will enjoy a close connection to the sea.

Located on the fourth floor of NMoQ, Jiwan is an essential chapter in the museum’s storytelling experience. A dining destination that enables residents and international visitors to truly feel, touch and taste the essence of Qatar.

World-class culinary experience

IN-Q F & B Director Yves Godard shared that a decade of partnership between Qatar Museums and Ducasse Paris is compelled by a shared vision towards offering world-class culinary experience in settings that are artful and reflective of Qatar’s rich culture.

Over the course of ten years, we are able to provide an elevated experience in the dining scene with our Ducasse restaurants in Qatar.

He added that the restaurant concepts are aligned with each venue’s theme. In each of the restaurant’s distinct and remarkable settings, guests are welcome to enjoy culinary delights meticulously crafted by the Ducasse kitchen team.

IN-Q aims to complete the cultural and culinary experience of residents and visitors by also offering tangible souvenirs that will remind them of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ moments across all Qatar Museums gift shops.

FIFA World Cup™ souvenirs

IN-Q brings to life the spirit of La’eeb – the official mascot of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ with its carefully developed line of La’eeb plush products. La’eeb plush hats, plush toys, keychains, pens and figurines are gifts that capture La’eeb’s warmth, energy and positivity, inspiring everyone to believe in themselves with his mantra – Now is All. They are worth keeping as souvenirs or gifts for families and loved ones.

IN-Q Director of Retail and Merchandising Tigest Seifu described the La’eeb product line as inspired by La’eeb’s adventurous, fun and playful nature.

We are motivated by the market’s acceptance of La’eeb. It is an affirmation to the positive message that La’eeb brings.

IN-Q also developed a project with FIFA under the umbrella of Qatar Creates, where FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ marks are combined with signature designs from artists on water bottles.

This initiative, spearheaded by Qatar Museums Chairperson HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, showcases the significance of sports and arts in Qatar and how the two can converge to encourage sustainable practices.

Using the art water bottles designed by ten Qatari artists and 12 renowned international artists from qualifying World Cup countries such as KAWS (USA), Urs Fischer (Switzerland), Takashi Murakami (Japan), Shouq Al Mana and Mubarak Al Thani (Qatar), reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste generated during the tournament.

IN-Q General Manager said they carefully design and choose the experience they offer. Each item on the restaurant’s menu and on display at the gift shops is well thought out to complete the experience enjoyed by visitors.

Whether a visit is made at IDAM in MIA, Jiwan at NMOQ or Qatar Museums’ gift shops, it is all about creating and living these moments to the fullest.
