Qatar Foundation is opening a new way for the local community to explore and experience everything that they have to offer – through the new Education City App.

Education City App

The new Education City App is a simple tool for people to discover more about the events, activities and opportunities available within the home of Qatar Foundation. The free-to-download app showcases how Education City is a hub of community life that provides something for everyone to enjoy.

The app joins a portfolio of new digital platforms created to promote Education City, alongside a dedicated website containing digital recordings that will give visitors an immersive insight into the range of events and activities at QF and Education City Marketplace, which is supporting businesses in Qatar by providing them with a shop window to sell their unique and creative handcrafted goods.

According to Machaille Hassan Al Naimi, President of Community Development at Qatar Foundation, Education City is a diverse and vibrant environment that is open, inclusive and welcomes everyone.

She said that the newly-launched Education City App brings all that they offer together in a single location, allowing people to find out about everything that is taking place in Education City and how it aligns with their interests – whether they are looking to attend a lecture series, join a sports and wellness class, or attend one of the Art Trail tours.

Everything that QF offers at Education City is designed to leave a lasting, positive and empowering mark on people’s lives, encouraging them to live healthy and sustainable lives, explore their talents, enhance their knowledge and appreciation of the culture of Qatar and of each other, and build new social connections.

Fully Accessible and MADA-Accredited

The Education City App was built by a QF alumni-owned organisation, AppLab and is fully accessible and MADA-accredited. The app allows users to easily navigate their way through the array of activities at Qatar Foundation, from sport and community classes to arts and cultural events and public talks and provides a guide to the many venues and facilities available to use at Education City.

Available in English and Arabic, it also offers user-friendly features that help people easily find what they’re looking for – including opportunities for enjoyment before they happen.

As they use the app, users can also build a profile tailored to maximise their Education City experience, and link family members to ensure that all bookings are organised and easily accessible.

Learn, Discover and Grow

Meanwhile, the app also benefits the organisers of events and classes in Education City, and venue owners, providing them with a digital space to promote their community-focused activities and facilities. All of the new app’s features complement the Education City’s new website, as QF aims to reinforce and amplify the message about how its ecosystem – which comprises more than 50 entities – can help people to learn, discover and grow, both in-person and now online.

Reflecting on Qatar Foundation’s longstanding support for small businesses in Qatar, the Education City Marketplace provides an opportunity for shoppers to snap up handmade products and gifts with a Qatar flavour, from homeware and decorative items to crafts, fashion, cosmetics, toys, and speciality food. Many products also showcase the talents of QF students and alumni.

The Education City App is now available to download for free from Google Play and Apple Store. For more information, visit qf.org.qa
