Qatar Museums (QM) launched a new social media competition that encourages Qatar’s wider community to become local tourists and visit cultural destinations, public art locations and heritage sites.

The #PassGoQatar Monopoly Challenge, which runs starting this week until 17 February, invites residents to visit destinations featured on the Qatar Museums Monopoly boardgame.

The competition aims to inspire participants to make new cultural discoveries, unite the community in a playful challenge, and offer an opportunity to win a host of prizes related to Qatar Museums and its venues.

#PassGoQatar Monopoly Challenge

The #PassGoQatar Monopoly Challenge takes the museum experience beyond four walls, inviting the community to discover Qatar’s past, present, and future. Destinations included in the challenge include Richard Serra’s East-West/West-East, Louise Bougreois’ Maman at QNCC, Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Palace, Museum of Islamic Art, Al Rekayat Fort, and the UNESCO world heritage site, Al Zubarah.

Participants will compete for a host of prizes, including the chance to win a VIP exhibition experience and dinner for two at one of QMs’ flagship restaurants: IDAM by Alain Ducasse. Other prizes include dinner for four people at Jiwan restaurant at the National Museum of Qatar, gift vouchers, and a host of limited-edition Qatar Museums branded merchandise.

To take part in the competition, visit the Instagram page of Qatar Museums and IN-Q Gift Shop Instagram page (inq_giftshop), for details on how to enter and the different prize categories.

According to IN-Q Enterprises General Manager Phil Lawrie, the Qatar Museums edition of the Monopoly board game is a popular gift item, which displays many of Qatar’s treasured cultural destinations, public art and heritage sites. The board game enables Qatar Museums to take the learning experience beyond the walls of venues and the #PassGoQatar Monopoly Challenge aims to inspire residents and visitors to explore more of Qatar’s distinct landscape, visit historic buildings and enjoy the country’s passion for art and culture.

The Qatar Museums edition of the Monopoly board game was developed in 2018 by IN-Q Enterprises, Qatar Museums’ commercial organisation. This iconic product enables players to compete by trading places of interest around Doha. It is an ideal gift for residents or visitors who enjoyed exploring the destinations featured on the board game. The QM Monopoly board game is available at IN-Q gift shops at the Museum of Islamic Art, National Museum of Qatar, Mathaf: Museum of Arab Modem Art, and at the Cass Art Qatar store. It is also available to purchase online via inq–online.com.
