Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), in partnership with Qatar Airways, announced the launch of the fifth edition of the highly-anticipated annual Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park from 20 to 23 March 2014.

The festival brings the world together in a multicultural festival which reflects Qatar’s diverse population and offerings alongside the 5-star fine dining and hospitality that is available in Qatar. This year, QIFF will focus on two themes, healthy food and lifestyle, and the Qatar- Brazil Year of Culture. The latter theme will be apparent through the cuisine and entertainment from both countries on offer. Number of restaurants and exhibitors accompanied by internationally renowned chefs to celebrate fine dining with the freshest ingredients and latest food trends and will take visitors on a delightful journey across continents.

Visitors can enjoy sampling the selection of food in a fun filled festival with exciting initiatives and zones for kids and families, a great line-up of musical acts and a line-up of innovative and exciting activities to enhance each and every culinary experience.

QIFF includes a number of areas that represent distinctive kitchens from around the world as the International Zone is divided into European, Arab, Asian and American lounges. The Healthy Food Zone will be dedicated entirely to healthy food offerings which will include raw foods, salads, vegetables, fruits, steamed cooked seafood and meats accompanied by fresh juices and teas – all of which reflect the main message of the food festival – eat healthy food, adopt a healthy lifestyle and stay fit.

This year’s festival has a number of exciting initiatives which will delight adults and kids alike – all of which will be revealed in the next two weeks leading up to the event. The MIA Park itself with its beautiful setting on Doha’s waterfront is a stunning backdrop for this event which will keep visitors entertained – and well fed – for hours on end.

QIFF, which has proven its success in attracting visitors from inside and outside Qatar with a record 72,000 visitors in its previous edition, falls within QTA’s efforts to promote Qatar to become a leading tourism destination for business facilitation, authentic experiences and family-focused recreations.
