The Cultural Village Foundation- Katara successfully concluded the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition – S’hail 2017 on Sunday, 4 September. The exhibition had kicked off on 20 September at Katara’s wisdom Square.
During the five-day festivities, the expo witnessed a tremendous response from the people in the regional and other parts of the world; falcon and hunting enthusiasts as well as experts in the field.
On the concluding day of S’hail 2017, the expo was visited by foreign ambassadors to Qatar and other VIP delegates including the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, HE Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari, and the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Qatar, HE Metin Kazak.
The Falcon auction highlighted the falcon named ‘Wahsh’ (Al Hurr) which is renowned for its high aesthetic features, also, rare. The auction started with a minimum bidding price of QAR 300,000 and increased to QAR 700,000, and it was decided to name the Falcon ‘Sabah’ after the Emir of the State of Kuwait, HE Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.
Katara Cultural Village Foundation’s General Manager and the Chairman of the organising committee of Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition – S’hail 2017, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, said:
As the host of this exhibition, Katara achieved marvelous accomplishments to be added to the organization’s success chain which is ideally proved by the number of visitors that the expo witnessed during the five-day festivities.

Dr Al Sulaiti also honours the support and presence of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, General Authority of Customs, Al Galayl and Marmi competitions, Qatari Society of Al Gannas, Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, Al Rami Sports Club, Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital, Qatar Fine Arts Association, Simaisma Youth Center and Librtha Heritage Center.
Dr Al Sulaiti also thanked the participants for their contribution by exhibiting high-quality falconry and hunting products. He said:
