For the first time in Qatar, the Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel launches a ‘flying’ dessert buffet as part of its innovate Meetings Imagined concept.

On the occasion of the annual GCC Sales Mission, hosted by the Marriott Global Sales Office in the Middle East and Africa on the 20 April 2016 in Doha, the ‘flying’ dessert buffet, consisting of 50 kilograms of home-made chocolate desserts, was lowered from the 5.5m high ceiling of the grand Al Areen Ballroom amidst hundreds of guests. In cooperation with Spirit Events, a local events management organization, the innovative structure sets new standards for the meeting industry in Qatar, as it premiered the ‘flying buffet’ set up in Doha.

Andreas Wissdorf, General Manager of the Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel, said:

Meetings Imagined focuses on reinventing the meetings industry, breaking free from a standardized approach to meetings and allowing room for creativity and customized solutions based on the meeting purpose. The concept is the result of research showing key shifts in how the next generation customer works collaboratively and uses technology, both of which are seen as an integral part of how things are accomplished today.

The Meetings Imagined Concept is integrated into the meeting and outside catering segment of the Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel. Rather than focusing just on dates, rates and room layouts, the hotel takes a holistic approach, focussing on the specific purpose of the meeting to create a more engaging experience, setting the hotel apart from its competition.
