From Parades to Costume Displays: Qatar National Day 2019 Celebrations
Thousands of citizens, residents and tourists alike witnessed jam-packed celebrations for the Qatar National Day 2019 — from the military parade, colourful air show and fireworks displays, to the traditional activities and costume displays in different hotels and parks.
The slogan this year is Al Maali Kaydah, which means ‘the path of excellence is difficult’.
One of the main events of the celebration is the Qatar National Day Parade which began at sharp 9:30 am at the Corniche.
All branches of Qatar’s Military and Civil Defence including Amiri Forces, Air Force, Army, different police wings took part in the parade.
The crowd was amazed by the colourful aerial show.
Aside from the huge public events, other establishments or organisations also hosted various activities for the National Day.
Commercial Bank held a special ceremony in recognition of the achievements of the State of Qatar at its headquarters in West Bay. The bank’s chairman, the board of directors, executive management, employees attended the ceremony.
Hamad International Airport (HIA) partnered with Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) to celebrate Qatar National Day 2019 through an employee engagement event.
Traditional and local food cuisine stations and food trucks, with live traditional Qatari performances and activities at HIA’s outdoor garden.
Katara Cultural Village also hosted several activities for the National Day.
Qatar Airways celebrated the Qatar National Day at Baraht Msheireb with a variety of activities showcasing Qatar’s rich culture and traditions including an exciting live performance by Kuwaiti singer Ibrahim Dashti.
Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel held its annual Qatar National Day celebration in its majestic lobby, kicking off with a ceremony embracing the richness of Qatari culture — the traditional cake-cutting, a cultural performance and quintessential local gastronomic treats for everyone. One of the celebration’s highlight was a live painting performance by artist Mohammed Khazaei, who completed a visual art piece in the lobby.
